New Building
If you haven’t picked up on the news already, the existence of your village pre-school was in doubt. The long and short of it was that our building, currently owned and maintained by The Garford Trust, was put beyond economical repair. By which I mean our old Horsa hut would take around £100k to put right, and The Garford Trust didn't have that kind of money.
What's happened so far?
- Dave Wilkinson (the nicest architect in the world) has drawn up some plans so that we could get builders quotes. Which in turn has meant that we have been able to start applying for grants.
Grant Success
The Pre-school have been successful in the biggest of their grant applications.
After some very late nights, and alot of doubting, we nervously submitted our first grant application on 19th December. The grant making body was Northants County Council Early Years. This was the grant that we felt had our name written on it - as long as we ticked all of the boxes.
During the last week of January 09 we received the call to say that we had done just that, and they would be happy to support the building of our New School, with the full amount that we had requested £116,600!!!
Until our face-to-face meeting , there was still a chance that it was one of those Dallas moments(if your old/sad enough) and been '"Just a dream".
We have worked hard to raise the rest of the money, and are now there.

Next Steps

The immediate next steps are:
- Continue to raise funds for the things that we are bound to have forgotten
- The lease is being reviewed by NCC after which we order the building and 12 weeks from then.......move in!!!!
