Activities are planned on a termly and then weekly basis, Each activity has clear learning objectives, which will be tailored to meet the individual needs and abilities of the children. That said if the children take an activity in a completely different direction who are we to stop them...The learning objectives are set out as below.
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), lays out the learning goals from birth, through pre-schoolers and continues into the reception class at school. The emphasis is still on children’s learning through planned play and extending and developing children’s spontaneous play. So laying secure foundations for future learning. It is broken down into six areas. Activities are planned that target specifc areas but more often an activity will give children access to several of these areas simultaneously. For example most play, whether creative or mathmatical in nature will include communication and social opportunities!
